The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a certification that is globally accepted in all major markets. It assures to the final consumers that the textile with this label went through strict requirements from the harvest of a raw fiber, through the environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to the labeling. In SENEGAL, the company in charge of the audit of the process of textile industries for the GOTS certification is Ecocert Greenlife.

The scope of certification of this audit was around the undyed fibers and the ginning system of SODEFITEX. This certification is the guarantee that the organic cotton produced and ginned in Dakar respects all the requirements of the GOTS label. SODEFITEX is now officially part of the certified supplier’s database of the Global Organic Textile Standard.
